Connection help
Connect your Outlook / Microsoft account
Outlook, Hotmail, Microsoft 365 and Exchange connect to Bostaji through Microsoft's official sign-in page. Here is the flow, step by step.
In one sentence
When you connect your Microsoft account, Bostaji opens your browser on Microsoft's sign-in page: you identify yourself with Microsoft, you validate the permissions, and you come back into the application. Your credentials never pass through Bostaji.
Step by step
-
1. In Bostaji, choose “Connect Outlook”.
On startup, or from the account settings, Bostaji offers to connect a mailbox. Choose the Outlook / Microsoft option.

2. Your browser opens on the Microsoft page.
Bostaji opens your browser on Microsoft's official sign-in page. You choose the account (Outlook, Hotmail, Microsoft 365 or Exchange) you want to connect and you sign in with Microsoft as usual.

3. Microsoft asks you to validate the permissions.
Microsoft shows the list of access Bostaji requests: read and organise your messages, send a draft you have validated, read your calendar to suggest time slots, and read your mailbox settings. The detail (and why each access is requested) is in section 7 of our privacy policy.

4. You validate, and you come back into Bostaji.
Once the permissions are granted, Microsoft sends you back to the application, which takes over. The connection is done; you will not have to go through this screen every time you open the app.
What makes this step safe
- Your Microsoft credentials stay with Microsoft. You type them on Microsoft's page, never in Bostaji. Bostaji only ever receives an access key, kept in your computer's system vault.
- The URL stays a Microsoft URL. Check that you are indeed on a
login.microsoftonline.com(orlogin.live.com) domain when you sign in. - You stay in control at all times. You can revoke Bostaji's access from your Microsoft account privacy settings, with no action needed on our side.
